Natural wonders show us the beauty, allure and majesty of the planet and give us some fantastic photo opportunities. As the world congregates more and more within large cities, we see less and less of these natural wonders, but when we do visit one, we are reminded of how amazing our planet is and that we need to humble ourselves in awe.

These natural wonders exist all around the world, and each continent has its share. In North America, there are many that attract millions of visitors each year to experience their wonder. Here are some of the most famous and breathtaking.

Denali, Alaska

In the central heart of central Alaska sits Denali National Park and Reserve, six million of some of the most stunning land on the planet. There is only one road that takes you to Denali and if you travel it, you get to experience the low-elevation taiga forest give way to high alpine tundra and white peaked mountains, culminating in North America’s tallest peak, 20,320 foot-high Mount McKinley. The park is a haven for all types of large and small wild animals that only appear here and who still run free living as they have for ages.

Getting to this part of Alaska is a journey of wonder and exploration. Starting at Juneau, lease a car and travel north, through the heart of the state and leads you to Denali. Along the way, you will experience nature like you won’t see anywhere else.

For those who are less adventurous but want to experience what this part of the world has to offer, you should book a cruise to Alaska. This choice gives you an ability to capture the unique grandeur and beauty, while you receive five star comfort. You can start the cruise in Vancouver and travel along pristine waterways to visit small towns along the coast.

Whenever you decide to go, know that Alaska has extreme weather much of the year, so make sure that you are dressed for it and aware of temperatures to expect.

Niagara Falls

To see one of the most overwhelming sights on the planet, visit Niagara Falls, which is the largest waterfall in North America and also one of the natural wonders of the world. Its breathtaking display of water movement, demonstrates the capacity of Mother Nature’s power and beauty.

Niagara Falls is actually a collection of three waterfalls: American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls. They sit between Ontario in Canada and New York in the USA, and look like they can supply the water needs of both countries.  In fact, more than 3,000 tons of water flows over Niagara Falls every second, with the largest amount going over Horseshoe Falls. Niagara Falls also produces over 4 million kilowatts of electricity, which is shared by the United States and Canada.

Niagara Falls is part of 400 acre Niagara Falls State Park which is the oldest state park in the U.S. and established in 1885. The falls are one of the most photographed sites on Earth and the park gets millions of visitors each year.
