    The secret to working escalators

    Get the mayor to pop by. Alan Mittlestaedt, in the 14 February 2008 edition of CityBeat, lays out the bleeding obvious: "One of the amazing feats of the morning: Every escalator the mayor encounters is working. Maybe that’s a coincidence, or maybe the Metropolitan Transportation Authority took some precautions."

    Apparently the little people do not matter, and one can only correctly assume that it is only a matter of time before the escalators are once again failing on a remarkable scale.

    Having added two and two, I am back to doing the dead escalator. Look for the Valentine's Day edition later this evening.
